# How Neither works

> Connect your work data. Neither’s structuring engine turns raw email, documents, and messages into a living knowledge graph — then you chat with it and open one inbox across every channel.

## Connect your accounts

Neither connects through OAuth to the services you already use: Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram, Outlook, OneDrive, calendar, and more. You choose what to connect; permissions follow each provider’s consent model.

## Structuring engine

Incoming content is processed continuously. The system extracts entities and relationships: **projects** (goals, milestones, health), **people** (roles, organizations, involvement), **decisions** (who decided what, with what evidence), and **dependencies** (what blocks what). Evidence links back to source documents for provenance and citations.

## Knowledge graph

The output is not a folder of files — it is a **graph** that compounds: new documents enrich existing projects and people, duplicates resolve over time, and cross-source structure replaces manual upkeep.

## Chat

Chat is the conversational interface to that graph. Ask natural questions — “What should I focus on this week?”, “Who owns the security review?”, “What changed on the Trident contract?” — and get answers that reflect structure, not only keyword matches. Responses can include citations to emails, docs, and meetings.

## Universal Inbox

The Universal Inbox is a second daily surface: one place for what matters across channels, prioritized (including Eisenhower-style importance and urgency), with project cards and suggested actions. It complements chat — chat for depth, inbox for triage.

## Governance

Workspaces are isolated. Access is authenticated and authorized per workspace. See **Security** and **Privacy** for encryption, retention, and third-party processing.
